Ongoing Restorations
Hi Everyone,
Hope all of you had a great holiday, we did! Here's what's going on around the shop:
The Cord is complete, the car looks truly stunning in Black on Red interior! The photo's don't do it justice. Maybe we will see it again on a summer day and get a concours quality photo set. |
Bob has roughed in the floors using custom routed tongue & groove planks. The doors are on, hinged and swinging with the skins roughed up. The back of the carriage is enclosed and veneered. With the amount of fabrication we have had to do from scratch it's nice to see it taking shape. |
Jamie has been busy cutting out the rot, re-sheeting, leading, welding and otherwise persuading in to shape the doors, trunk and now onto the main body. The trunk edge was welded and ground out, not rolled, for smooth contours with no crimps or dove-tails. Most of the main body sheet metal repairs are now complete |
Clark has the crank, cam, pistons and valves installed and the motor is ready to go back on the frame. |
The body has been removed from the temporary frame. The correct frame is still under restoration and should be reunited with the body in the coming weeks. |
