Ongoing Restorations
We have some exciting updates to show you this issue! The Auburn has finally been reunited with its original restored chassis and the race is on to finish the Silver Ghost in time for the Peking to Paris Rally!
Finally the car really is starting to take shape, the chassis is complete now and ready to receive its fully rebuilt motor by the end of February. Many modifications have been made to prepare this car for its Journey across the continent, including, fitting hydraulic brakes in the front with the mechanical system in the rear, an electronic overdrive, additional springs, stiffened body framing, as well as the provision for dual fuel systems. By the end of February the body will be complete and we will have a fully driving car. As the Peking to Paris Rally draws closer, we thought you would enjoy taking a glimpse at what the Silver Ghost is in for, covering over 14,500 KM across Europe. Click here to take a look at the route. The Ghost and it's driver, Jim Paige, are in for a real adventure. We will follow their journey as it unfolds later this year. |

Jamie has finished restoring the proper Auburn frame. This original frame was long-ago modified to fit a Duesenberg motor, so he had his work cut out for him. This week when we dropped the body on, it fit like a glove! Check out the photo set to see the start-to-finish fabrication work. The Auburn 12 motor is now out and undergoing final machining to complete the rebuilding process. The axles are midway through the rebuilding process and the body is ready to come off and be striped to enter the bodywork stage. It is a great feeling to see this wonderful speedster back together after so many years of being apart. |

The motor has been stripped down, media blasted, block painted, and is now beginning it's final assembly. The front frame parts are also being painted this week including the rotted front frame rails Jamie recently repaired. Take a look at the new photo sets added in this section and follow along as it progresses. |
| In our next issue look for a major Duesenberg update both of our Murphy projects, final shots of the Completed 1930 Cadillac V16 Limo (shipping to Slovakia ) and a tour of the engine machining process. Plus paint and body photos of our 1931 Buick and 48 Chrysler Town & Country project (both of which are ready for final color to be shot and they are both going blue!) |
