March - New Inventory and Amelia Island
Hello friends,
Here in the Northeast as the calendar prepares to flip to March the excitement begins to build. Only 2 weeks until the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance in Florida, and the snow beginning to melt away as we look forward to Spring. In my opinion, 2011 is already shaping up to be a record breaking year, both in the collector car market and for our companies. I'd like to share some of our exciting news and interesting new finds in this newsletter.
The collector car market for the rare Brass and Classic automobiles, which we are most noted for, has taken off with a bang. The RM and Gooding Auctions in January shattered many records, with very strong numbers being achieved for 50HP+ Brass Cars and the Big Classics ($30.8 Million dollars sold at RM, and Gooding and Company posted a 98% sale rate at $34.98 Million dollars). Here at our showroom the results have been equally impressive. Many of the cars that are now coming in have sold before even hitting the website.
Here are some of our February sales:
- The 1907 Thomas will be off to England once completed
- Our Murphy Duesenberg project will be heading to Missouri once the restoration is completed
- Our 812 Cord prepares to leave for Italy
- The 1930 Lincoln Dual Cowl phaeton will be off to a new home
- and a trio of 1940’s cars are off to new homes as well.
New Inventory:
We also have some new additions to the inventory including a super rare 1932 Auburn 12 Custom 4-Door Convertible. Only a handful of these rare Auburns exist, and this car has had a great deal of the restoration work already completed. It arrives today, and it's priced to sell. This rare offering will make an incredible value for one of our clients. Once we complete the restoration, it will be a stunning example that will give the owner both a Concours car, and a car that will yield a good return on investment. Call fast, I'm sure it will be sold in the next few days.
The ultimate Brass Touring, the 1912 Stoddard Dayton 50HP, 5 Passenger Roadster. This stunning car is incredible, just watch the driving video on the website. It's powerful and gorgeous. This tour-proven restoration is an incredible car for any collection. We will have the Stoddard at the Amelia Concours in 2 weeks, I'm sure you will see it out driving around the Island. A special car like this one is rarely offered for sale.
Also a fun woody, a 1947 Chrysler Town and Country Convertible that has had only one owner from new, a great car with the best original wood I have seen yet. Fully freshened and sorted out, available at $119,000.
Call me direct at 585-329-9855 if you would like any details on these new acquisitions.
March is going to be a very exciting month. Watch our website and newsletters for some fun and incredible new changes for our shop and the company, and visit us at Amelia Island this year with the Stoddard-Dayton and my own 1907 Dragon.
Stay tuned, the best is yet to come...
