Platinum Classic Motorcars is pleased to offer this 1929 LaSalle Dual Windshield Phaeton. The LaSalle's were boldly styled sporty performance oriented drivers cars of the period. The Fisher Body 1185 Phaeton is ne exception, it has a sleek lines, with double cowl vents, a full folding Windshield, knock off wire wheels and the accessory Dual Windshield, which was a period option.
This particular car has had the restoration started many years ago. It is in excellent condition, the body sheet metal and fenders are all original and appear free of any major repairs. The wood in the car is also good and will require very minimal work prior to completing the restoration. All of the fenders, are in excellent shape and have absolutely no rust. The hood is like new.
Mechanically the motor was rebuilt, I am not sure how long ago it was done. The engine is complete and on a stand, it can be installed in the car prior to shipping, for ease of transport. THe manifold porcelain was also redone when the rnge was rebuilt.
The Body is in primer and the frame was painted, it should be scuffed and freshened up before the body paint is completed. THe body is in primer, and the wood and sheet metal look to be in good condition, the doors all close well, and the hinges need to be re bushed, and the final body adjustment completed. It is a very straight example of this rare body style.
All of the bright work seems to be very original and very easily restored since it is such good original condition. The top bows have been re plated and new bows are included with the car.
The car appears to be very complete, with only a few minor items missing. The dash casting is broken, it needs 1 gauge, 2 spare tire support arm, and most likely a few other small items. There are parts that are not in the photo, we will also be glad to help the purchaser with the acquisition of the few missing parts.
