Very few examples of the early Auburn Boattail speedster survive , and even fewer powered by the mighty V12 motor. The 1932 - 1933 Auburn 12 speedster, have commanded the absolute highest prices at auction of any of the boattail's. The Auburn Boattail speedster is a legendary design that is highly coveted by collectors and concours events. Only produced for 2 years, at the peak of the depression.
Offered here is a Auburn 12 Speedster that the restoration has been started on. The chassis restoration is just beginning now. The main body wood and metal work has been repaired and rebuilt as necessary. The body paint, and interior had been previously restored, and could be used as a driver, or freshened for concours competition. The 12 auburn 160hp engine is still in excellent original condition, with all the original porcelain on the manifolds still, indicative of a low mileage motor. The fenders and hood are the only remaining sheet metal parts that still require restoration. Included lots of new, and nos parts to aid in the completion of the restoration. Fitted with the Salon instrument cluster.
