For 1938 Cadillac continued down the path of constantly updating the body styles from year to year. Series 60 was restyled with a squared off grille with 4 chrome bars decorating the hood side panel. The convertible-shaped top featured a thin roof section and a notched back. The sleek sporty body style of this particular Cadillac is what sets it apart from the rest, a well proportioned art deco design that is clean and sleek. I believe this is the only year that Cadillac had the rumble seat as well as the trunk. Fitted with body number 141, of a low production run makes this a rare and desirable Cadillac that is fitted with all the factory correct options and has benefited from a professional frame off restoration.
This Cadillac has covered 596 Miles since a very comprehensive professional nut and bolt restoration in the early 1990's. The car has been kept in Heated and Air Conditioned museum display since restoration and is in excellent condition throughout. The underside of the car is finished as good as the top, with great attention to detail that is prevalent throughout, right down to the properly silver anodized fasteners. This rare 1938 is also fitted with the entire catalog of options and accessories including Dual Cadillac script spot lights, factory accessory fog lights, a factory heater, and factory radio (with proper original under running board mounted antennas). The interior is well finished with proper wool carpets and the full wood grain dashboard. Also included will be a proper restored and recast original steering wheel to replace the cracked original that is seen in the photos. Mechanically the Cadillac has just completed a servicing and is ready to drive and enjoy. The exterior paint and chrome all remaining in excellent condition throughout, and is finished in the factory correct color.
A rare example of a art deco Cadillac that will be at home on the show field as much as the road.
